Amazing Women

To read about these amazing women in my life go to....

Boobs

The girls and I went to Target today to get a few neccesities.  We were walking by the bras to get to the baby section and Makenzie looks at me and says...

"Mommy, look bras.  Do you need new boobies?"

My response...

"No honey, I'm good."

Party Time

Caroline celebrated her 5th birthday in style.  She had a friend party on April 17th, then on her actual birthday, April 22nd, we went to the local children's museum for some fun and then she had a program/musical at preschool.  Later that evening, she was treated to dinner at Chili's by her grandmother.  On the 23rd, it was her "special day" at preschool and she brought mini ice cream sandwiches to share with her preschool friends.  Then on Saturday, April 24th, her entire family came to celebrate the big day.  Wow, one girl, turning five, with four parties.  That's excitement.

Here are some pictures to share with you...

Art

I took the girls to the local children's museum today.  They have a really neat area to do arts and crafts.  I asked the girls if they wanted to go down to the arts table and they both agreed. Caroline sat at one table to do a flower craft with muffin cups and Kenzie sat down at another table to do some scissoring.
All of a sudden Kenzie says to me...

"Mommy, look I'm arting."

I just cracked up.  Too funny, those girls.

Happy Birthday!

Happy 5th Birthday Sweet Caroline!

I can't believe my first born is 5 years old today.  It's truly amazing how fast the time has flown by.
I remember holding you in my arms for the first time & now you stand past my waist.
I'm glad God chose me to be your mom.

I love you!

I think I'll just stay a kid

"Mommy, when I am a mommy, where will I get money?"

"Well, when you are married and have little babies, hopefully, you can stay home with your babies, just like me, and your husband will have a job and that's where you will get your money."  (Of course I said this the simplest way I could.  I could have gone into a lot more detail here, but remember I am talking to a 5-year old)

"Okay mommy.  Who do you think I will marry?"

"I don't know honey.  Who do you want to marry?"

"Nobody.  I think I will just stay a kid forever."

"Sounds good"

This was a conversation Caroline and I had on our way home from the grocery store this evening.  I got to thinking that maybe she would like to see mine and Roy's wedding video.  I asked her and she said sure.  We watched the video when we got home and she couldn't believe how little her cousins were and she kept asking where she was.  I don't think she quite understood, but that is okay.  Kenzie kept running around saying to Roy..."Mommy is getting married."

Too funny!

Catching up...

Okay, so it's been a while (again) since I have blogged.  I have a few holidays and celebrations to catch up on.  Things have been busy in the Smith household lately.  I have been planning Caroline's friend b-day party, taking the second course of the Wilton cake decorating class at Hobby Lobby, running here and there to preschool and playdates and lastly I got sick last week.  Don't they know (whoever "they" are) that the mommy can't get sick.  They whole world comes to an end when mommy can't function. I guess my point is, I haven't blogged in a while because I have been busy, busy, busy.

We spent Easter in Muncie at my parents house.  Here are a few pictures of the girls and my nephew Cole, decorating Easter eggs.

Cole Ray decorating eggs.  This also happened to be the night of the NCAA Final Fours games.  My husband who is a Butler grad, was of course cheering for Butler and my nephew was cheering for Duke.  They both made eggs with the words Butler and Duke on them.  They kept threatening to crack each others eggs.
Have you noticed how both of my girls have no clothes on?  Nudie Easter Egg decorating, who would have thought?

Easter baskets left by the Easter Bunny!

The girls waiting for the Easter bunny.  So sweet!  I love sleeping babies!

Mauw & Papaw got both of the girls a personalized sugar egg.  They were so pretty.  You won't believe all of the goodies stuffed inside those eggs.

We had our first bike ride of the season last week.  I love this picture of Kenzie and her Johnny doll straped in his little bike seat.  So cute!

Caroline in the bike trailer with her reading material for the ride.  She doesn't like to be bored.  :)

My pretty girls!

Caroline was invited to a birthday party at the local bowling alley.  This was her first time bowling (with the exception of Wii bowling).  She got a spar and she was so excited.

And lastly, she had her bestest friends over for a playdate this week.  They are all so cute.
